The Convicts is supposedly to be a book for kids grades However, perhaps because I listened to the audio book, and the reader was 5 star, I was enthralled in the tale.

If you enjoy novels set in England set in any era as I do for some reason, this reads, or I should say, listens like an adult novel/5. The Convicts Hardcover – Ap by Iain Lawrence (Author)4/4(18). The Convicts has been compared to Charles Dickens' stories, because of the setting, the time period, and the cruel treatment of poor families and children.
